Childfree Dating
I'm not sure if this community is still active, but I built a website that should be useful for childfree singles.

I'm childfree myself and I'm active on a couple of childfree forums. I read horrible stories all the time from the childfree people who are single and dating — strangers telling you that you'll change your mind, single parents insisting that their kids are different and you'll love them, etc.

I think it's about time there's a place just for the childfree to find one another. Here's the website: yeschildfree.com — I launched it about 2 months ago and there are now more than 300 members on the site.

Hope to see you there!

Just blowing the dust off...
I forgot this community existed. Anyone else still here?

I guess as a random personal introduction, I'm Adam. 32, single, living in Colorado. My hobbies are primarily reading, writing, computers, cars, and target shooting. I've got a decent, stable IT gig here and all that fun stuff. I've been out of the dating game for a little while, and I'm not entirely sure I want to get back into it at this point, but I wouldn't mind actually talking with some like-minded people here, that's for sure...

In any case, that's my cough into this massive empty room, right?

Looking for quaility single women who do not want children
Hi. My name is David and I am 45 years old. After looking for longer than I care to admit and having no success whatsoever, I just have to ask: "Are there any quality single women (i.e. those who DO NOT drink to excess, smoke, do illegal drugs, hang out at bars every night, or cover themselves with tattoos and/or body piercings) in southeastern Massachusetts who DO NOT want children?" If there are, please respond. I would really like to talk and get to know you better, and see if maybe we might have some other things in common. I'm really into working out and staying fit, movies, and rock concerts, to name a few of my interests. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hello, my name is Candice. I'm not looking for a boyfriend on here, but rather, some new friends who don't mind freely talking about how they think kids will ruin their lives and maybe what their future goals actually are. I realize that CF peoples are far and few between and I'm actually starting to feel a little hopeless, so when I find a community like this, I join right away to at least make new friends and feel like I'm not alone.

My life goals are: Become a Disney Imagineer or the female Neil Gaiman. Write books. Travel the world and se the Taj Mahal before I die as well as Scotland and Ireland. Find that special someone who DOESN'T want kids and marry him and live happily ever after doing WHATEVER WE WANT, without worrying about getting the kids to bed.

I'm an all encompassing artist. I make films, jewelry, and graphic art (not pornographic, just graphic). I was a Scottish Highland dancer for 14 years and love my heritage, but I don't focus my life around it.

I was very recently dumped (for the third time, by the same guy, for the same reason) because the guy wanted kids and I'm sick of false promises that if that person loved me enough, then they wouldn't give me up just because I want to live a life too (which to me, means free of children, to do as I please.) Again, I'm not looking for a boyfriend on here; this is just some background about me.

Any CF females around Houston?
Hi,

I'm taking a gamble at this, but looking for any CF females around the Houston, Texas area. I've searched a lot of on-line dating sites, like many, and can't seem to find any that don't have children.

I might not get anything out of this but...
It doesn't hurt to try. My name is Rachel. I am 36 years old. I live in Northern New Jersey. Is there not a single guy out there who does not want children???? I recently started talking to a great guy; but low and behold...he wants children and he said that would be a major big deal if we ever got together. So I had to drop him before I ended up getting hurt.  It is so hard living in a society where the main focus seems to be on family that includes children. If anyone wants some live journal friends please feel free to add me.

Happy Childfree Women's Weekend 2009!

Hello,

I wish a happy sixth annual Childfree Women's Weekend, 2009/05/09 and 05/10, to all of the childfree women in this group. :-) The first Childfree Women's Weekend occurred on 2004/05/08 and 05/09. I created this holiday weekend for childfree women so that they could celebrate their excellent childfree decision; this weekend occurs everywhere on Earth. This weekend does not celebrate the non-childfree, where the non-childfree are the fence sitters, childless, past, current and foster parents, past, current and future stepparents, past, current and future surrogate parents, past, current and future godparents, past, current and future guardians of at least one minor, past, current and future parents, and past, current and future procreators.

Happy Childfree Pride Weekend 2008!

Hi,

Happy Childfree Pride Weekend of 2008!

This weekend is the fifth annual Childfree Pride Weekend, a holiday weekend that I created for childfree adults so that they could take pride or show pride in their excellent childfree decision; this weekend occurs everywhere on Earth. This weekend excludes the non-childfree, where the non-childfree are the fence sitters, childless, past, current and foster parents, past, current and future stepparents, past, current and future surrogate parents, past, current and future godparents, past, current and future guardians of at least one minor, past, current and future parents, and past, current and future procreators. Childfree Pride Weekend occurs every year on the weekend of September's fourth Saturday.

Before anyone comments about the lack of an advance announcement, I have been quite busy in my life.

Ahh...once again it feels like there's no childfree men out there.
What's the deal with that? Eh?

I'm a 21 year old CF female. I live near Lexington Kentucky and,  it's supposed to be a good town for singles. Heck, Yahoo even listed in their top 50. But, out of all those 'singles' out there. Not one of them seem to be Childfree. I've searched dating sites up and down and none of the men say they don't want children here.

Is there a shortage of Childfree men everywhere. Or just in Kentucky? All I want is to find someone to give love to. And, that will give love back. I feel so left out of the dating game just because I have no desire to have children. I find it so disturbing and sad. :(

Feel free to respond to this message if you're a single Childfree man, I don't even care if you're from KY. I just wanna know if there's any hope for me left.

Anyone here?
Well.. hm. I'm new here, so I may as well introduce myself. I'm a single male, almost 25, that lives in Colorado Springs, CO. I do not want kids, never have wanted kids, and am really sick and tired of dating people with kids. I am a car and computer enthusiast, gamer geek, and have various other hobbies I'm free to chat about. I might be poking back into the dating scene, but around here it's almost impossible to find anyone but single moms or ultra-religious girls who insist on 'letsgetmarriedandhavebabiesNOW!' Personally, I'm around here to date; I'm not a big fan of getting married at all, anyway.

So, anyone want to chat a bit? :)

I had a bad experience on a dating site recently, and I think that you folks will identify with me. First of all, it clearly states in my profile on this site that I don't want kids. That's a non-negotiable. I even used to state as part of my profile that if someone sends me a message, but his profile says "Yes, I want kids," then I won't even bother replying. I took that out of my profile because it seemed too unfriendly and harsh. I'm thinking of putting it back because I'm tired of getting emails from men who state in their profile that they definitely want kids.

About a week ago, a man sent me a message, and it was very interesting. However, his profile said "Yes" to the "Do you want kids?" question. Normally I would have deleted it without replying, but for some reason I decided to reply and say that I was tempted by his message, but I don't want children and he does, so we are not a good match. I guess I wanted him to know why I was saying "no thank you."

I couldn't believe what I got back! He replied with this very rude message that basically told me that a single person has no right to decide whether or not she wants kids. According to him, that's a decision that a couple has to make together! And I quote, "Talking to me would not get you pregnant." Honestly, I don't see the point in communicating with someone on a dating site who has answered "Yes" to the kids question. It's a waste of my time. I don't want kids, and that's a non-negotiable.

I immediately blocked him. Unbelievable. The nerve of him to tell me that a single person has no right to decide whether he or she wants children or not. Is it or is it not my decision?? (That's a rhetorical question, as I'm sure you can all tell.) It's been a week, and I'm still quietly seething with anger.

For those of you who are on dating sites, how specific are you in your profiles about being childfree? What's a way to phrase it that doesn't seem bitchy and unfriendly?

intro
Hi. I'm recently single (due to my CF decision) and I thought I see who's out there. I'm glad to see that I'm not alone. I'm not looking to date or anything just yet, but finding some like minded people might give me hope for the future. I know I've limited myself to an incredibly small portion of the dating population by choosing this lifestyle, and I'm not all that social to begin with! Anyhow... I'm a 31 year old male living in upstate NY. Cheers.
